Summer
Since graduation, my life has revolved mainly around taking care of Owen and trying to figure out why the hell I'm in Iowa. Well, the longer I'm here the more I appreciate it.
First of all, the cost of living is freaking cheap-- I don't know anywhere else where Owen could be a full time student and I could be underemployed, and we can still afford to buy a house.
When I say underemployed I mean that I found a fantastic job tutoring the GRE with the Princeton Review, and then no one signed up for classes. No one.
So, I had to job hunt once again. I've just started with The Arc of Southeast Iowa, a company that I found through the classified adds in The Daily Iowan. I am loving it!! I find it challenging on emotional and physical levels, but most importantly I love the people who I am working with. Everyone is so nice!! And not even the annoying kind of nice-- they are the genuinely caring, kind, and appreciative sort of nice.
So between a husband, two excellent part time jobs and a few writing projects, life is good.
